Editor: Eco-fundamentalists derailing major projects in California are no different than the Taliban in their desire to reverse the course of human progress. Poseiden Resources is poised to begin construction on a desalination plant in Carlsbad, to serve 300,000 people after a permitting and approval process that only took about 15 years. Unless the power of fringe groups to impede major projects is curtailed, you may as well start looking at Texas as a prospective place to live and work.
